Bomb: Damage enemies or blow up walls. You
can also damage yourself if you get too close to the explosion.
Bombs explode approximately four seconds after you pick them
up. You must have a bomb bag to hold any.
Bow: You can only use the bow if you
have arrows too. Arrows can be found in many places; you can also
purchase them in a shop.
Compass: This will show the location of a
dungeon's Nightmare and the location of unopened treasure chests.
Crazy Tracy: This odd woman lives northeast
of Mabe Village. They say that she can create secret medicines.
Crystal Switches: Inside a dungeon,
a Crystal Switch acts as a toggle button for various events. Usually
a boomerang or your sword will be most convenient for hitting
it.
Fairy: (1) A magic spell which turns
Link into a fairy; this allows him to fly. (2) They can restore
your hearts.
Fishing Pond: Just north of Mabe Village,
there is a fishing pond which only cost ten rupees to enter.
Flippers: These let Link swim and also
dive underwater.
Fragment: If you place one of these
into a stone slab, you will get a hint on how to finish the dungeon.
Gold Leaves: You can trade these for
dungeon keys.
Grandpa Ulrira: This old man is knows
just about everything there is to know about Koholint Island. However,
he doesn't like to talk a whole lot, so it can be difficult to get
information out of him. His wife is the loud old woman who
loves sweeping the front of her house.
Heart Container: Earn a new heart when collected.
All your hearts will be replenished when you receive a heart
container. They are only found when you defeat a boss.
Heart Piece: When you collect four of
these, you will get an entire new heart.
Hook Shot: It has a spring-like hook which
allows you to grab onto certain objects, pulling you to that object.
It can grab distant items and also temporarily stun enemies.
Koholint: A small uncharted island.
The home of the Wind Fish.
Magic Powder: It has different effects
on everything.
Magic Rod: Attack enemies or light lanterns.
Map: The map will show you all of the
rooms in the dungeon you found it in.
Marin: She saved you life when she rescued
you from the wreck. She, in a peculiar way, reminds you of Princess
Zelda. She is a very musical woman who loves singing and wants to
live away from Koholint.. She is friends with people, animals,
and even some monsters. Her father is Tarin, the mushroom collector.
Mr Write: He loves to read and is always
writing letters. Many say that he writes to a charming young woman
in a far away city.
Nightmare Key: You will need this to
in order to enter into the Nightmares liar. It can on be used to
open the Nightmare door in the dungeon you found it in.
Ocarina: The songs you learn will become
useful on your adventure. You can play them on this ocarina.
Owl: This mysterious owl follows you
throughout your aventure. He seems to know very much about Koholint,
and also the wind fish.
Pegasus Shoes: These magic shoes have
been passed down by the family of one of the Seven Wise Men. They
let you run very fast. You can get these shoes from the wise man
Sahasrahla.
Pots: Pots have can somtimes have items
hidden inside, or even switches beneath them. You must have the
Power Bracelet in order to pick them up.
Power Bracelet: This allows Link to
lift heavy objects.
Princess Zelda: She is the Royal Princess
of Hyrule. She has the power to predict when evil is stirring.
Roc's Feather: This makes your body
as light as a feather. The level 1 feather lets you jump one space,
and the level to feather lets you fly around.
Rupees: The currency in Koholint. Link
can carry up to 999 rupees.
Secret Medicine: When Link dies, all
of his heart containers will be restored.
Secret Shells: These shells are scattered
throughout Koholint. If you find enough of these, something good
is sure to happen.
Shield: Use this to protect yourself from
enemy arrows or stones.
Shovel: Dig holes in the ground.
Sleepy Mushroom: Bring one of these
to the Witch and she will make Magic Powder.
Stone Slabs: If you place a fragment
into one of these, you will get a hint on how to finish the dungeon.
Sword: This trusty blade is Link's main
weapon.
Tarin: Marin's Father. He is a bit careless
but he is kind-hearted. He loves mushrooms and often goes to the
forest in search of some for his dinner.
Telephone Booth: Using a phone is free,
but who could you call?
Treasure Chest: You will find many treasure
chests throughout Koholint. They could cantain rupees, maps,
special items, and other things. Some treasure chests in dungeons
will not appear until every enemy in the room has been destroyed.
